COMSIT restructured for efficient service delivery – Jimoh

The management of the Computer Services and Information Technology (COMSIT), University of Ilorin, has announced the re-organisation of the Directorate to ensure efficient service delivery.

This is contained in a memo signed by the Director, Prof. Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN BULLETIN.

The Director explained that the reorganisation was embarked upon “in line with global best practices in managing Information Technology (IT) within an enterprise like ours coupled with the ongoing digital transformation agenda of the current Administration”.

The Directorate, according to Prof. Jimoh, is now segmented into 12 Units with each headed by a Deputy Director.

The Administration and Operations Unit, which coordinates all activities of other units in addition to handling administrative matters of the Directorate, is headed by Dr Rasheed Ademola Tomori while the Software and Applications Unit, which is saddled with the responsibility of gathering and validation of requirements of any proposed solution/automation, is headed  by Dr Aderinola Dunmade. The Portal Unit, whose responsibility is seeing to the day-to-day operations of all portals of the University, is headed by Mr Yekeen Suleiman.

Mr Aliyu Bolakale Yusuf is the Head of the Digital Innovations and ICT Ideation Unit. The Unit coordinates the digital innovations drive of the University from conception to implementation and evaluation stage.

The Web Services Unit, which is responsible for planning, designing and managing the main website of the University and other web services to achieve desired visibility and ranking, is headed by Mrs Shakirat Oyeleke; while the Mail Services and Help-Desk Unit, which is in charge of general mail services for students and staff of the University, has Mrs Medinat Salman as its Head.
