Omojasola charges staff members on career progression

The Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Patricia Folakemi Omojasola, has encouraged staff members of the University to adhere strictly to work ethics in order to  deserve career progression. and achieve the institution’s corporate objectives.

Prof. Omojasola gave this advice recently while speaking at an interactive session titled “Work Ethics, Conduct and Career Development”, organised for staff members of the Faculty.

The Dean, who spoke extensively on what staff members needed to do to deserve promotion, thanked the organising committee of the event for doing a great job.

She also enjoined participants to take  advantage of the programme to broaden their knowledge and perspectives for personal growth and progress of the system.

Also speaking, the immediate past Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Sylvia Malomo, charged lecturers to always strive to update their knowledge and also improve their teaching capacity.

Prof. Malomo, who teaches at the Department of Biochemistry, urged academic staff of the Faculty and the University at large to be innovative in order to impact positively on their students.

In his remarks at the event, Prof. Abdulrasheed Adeoye of the Department of Performing Arts, who is also the Chairman, Library and Publications Committee, said that the management of the University was prepared to offer promotion to deserving staff members.

Prof. Adeoye, who was represented by Mr Olabanji, assured that all the processes and preparations for an hitch free promotion exercise had been put in place by the management of the University.

In her presentation, the Deputy Registrar (Vice Chancellor’s Office),  Mrs Azeezat Ibrahim, explained all that are  needed by both the employer and the employee to make the work place friendly and convenient for efficient service delivery.

Mrs Ibrahim added that it is very important for employees to always report at their duty posts punctually and ensure that they discharge their responsibilities as expected.
